Check who receives the funds and the relationship between that person or organization and the beneficiary. Look for independent corroboration. Similar names, copied photos and rapidly changing payment instructions deserve additional questions.
Understand the platform’s role
Read its verification, refund and protection terms carefully. Do not assume every campaign receives the same review. If tax deductibility is claimed, independently confirm the relevant organization and rules for your circumstances.
Keep your records
Save the campaign description, receipt and terms. Use the platform’s reporting route if something appears wrong. Be cautious about moving payments outside the platform after an unsolicited request.
